Yendor Productions is casting “ A Raisin in the Sun” for the Drew University’s 2012-2013 DUDS Season, directed by Professor Rodney Gilbert.
A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry debuted on Broadway in 1959. The title comes from the poem “Harlem” (also known as “A Dream Deferred”) by Langston Hughes. The story is based upon a black family’s experiences in being one of the first African- American families to move into one of Chicago’s white suburban neighborhood.
The 60-something matriarch of the family. She has recently lost her husband Walter Sr., and will be the recipient of a $10,000 life insurance check.

Actress auditioning for the role of Lena (Mama) must be able to play late 40’s-60 years of age.
